Thomas Turine (1979) is an artist, a composer, a musician, and a musical producer. From Brussels.
Since 1995, he has developed a unique musical universe at the crossroads of electronic music, pop rock, baroque & contemporary classical music and musical theater. He has created and is leading Cosipie (ensemble & musical studio) to work on his own instrumental pieces (Vertigo L’Oratorio Hourrite, Alice à Laborde, 88 Constellations, Mirage, Assises). He also have a strong collaboration in the field of performing arts with the trio Mannès-Turine-Lemaître ( Atomic 3001, Forces, Les Rituels du Désordre), plastic arts and auteur cinema (Natalia Sardi). Is brand new band Le Jardin loves to perform live a Baroque Electronic Music.
Since 2000, As a free lance composer he’s been closely working with stage directors, movie makers and choreographers who are interested in exploring contemporary forms and making new creations (Hélene Mathon & La Langue Ecarlate, Pierre Droulers, Claude Schmitz, Isabella Soupart, Cie Mossoux-Bonté, Philippe Eustachon, Cie Anomalie, Teatro da Vertigem (Brazil), Kris Verdonck…). He both composes the music pieces and designs audio spaces for about 100 pieces.
He started off his musical journey as a child with folk music (Les Bousineus). At the beginning of the 90’s he followed closely his sister’s New Wave band La Vierge Du Chancelier Rolin for which a plays drums on tour in Boznia 1996. He started to play drums in various Punk Rock bands. In 1995 he discovers the sound of acid techno and starts immediately to compose his first productions and to make powerful dj sets in all the good underground Belgian venues: The birth of Sitoid. In 2000 he becomes the drummer of Major Deluxe.

He invents his own instrumental composition process, either on computers or on paper. He turns his composition into something more plastic. He likes to take on a visual representation of the world and create a new one. He has developed his own personal field of research a lively instrumental one on contemporary music and stage performance where the slightest musical experience conjures up new ways of looking at the world that’s before our eyes.
His music has a melody if its own, while it works with concrete or abstract matters in a dynamic way. It carves the sound environment and brings movement to it. His work on space, both in the matter of his musical composition or the sound spatialisation tends to work itself in a subliminal way so that the perception of his pieces are organic. The body of the listener has to be engaged and engrossed. He intends his music to be a place of encounter with the listener.
